Ex-Convento opens new exhibits

A photographic exhibition of work by Lakesiders Jill Flyer and Luis Mancera McCormick, “Paisajes de Mexico,” is opening February 19, 9 p.m. at the Ex-Convento del Carmen (Avenida Juarez 638 ) in downtown Guadalajara.

Each photographer will be showing about 40 of their most recent images. The show will run until March 17.

Three other exhibits also up at the Ex-Convento are “Los Fresnillenses,” “El Rebaño” and “Sin Retorno.”  These collections of photography and painting are by artists from Fresnillo, Zacatecas and Guadalajara. The three exhibits are up through March 7.

The Ex-Convento is one of the premiere art spaces in Guadalajara and is open Tuesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. and Sundays from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.  Sunday  morning visitors can also enjoy entertainment in the street, with variety shows put on as cyclists and walkers participate in the popular Via Recreativa – when miles of city streets are closed to traffic.
