Around 45,000 pesos in prize money is on offer in the annual Salon de Octubre art competition.
Anyone who has lived in the state of Jalisco for the past five years may submit work for the contest and show, scheduled for the Ex Convento del Carmen from October 15 to November 14. All genres of paintings are accepted but none may measure more than 180 centimeters, either in height or width. They should be submitted to the Ex Convento (Av.
