Q. When is paradise not so much?
A. When it gets cold and the cold lingers long enough for unheated Mexican homes to turn into refrigerators, that’s when. But before we really get going with the moaning and groaning about our chilly plight bordering on misery (as I was going to do in this space this week), realize that two nights ago, five indigenous Tarahumara died from the cold on the northern rim of the Copper Canyon in their homes made on stone outcroppings from the canyon.
And then there’s Haiti ...
I’ll quit my bitching and faunching and count my fireplaces and my blessings, at least for now.
