Poop

Those of you who think you are getting away with driving your dogs to other people’s neighborhoods so that they can run on someone else’s lawn, irrigate every hedge and leave fecal calling cards all over the place should be warned — you are not going unnoticed. Others are watching and some have taken videos.

One of the reasons that we allow our children to have pets is to teach them responsibility. Apparently those lessons fade as we grow older and actually walking our dogs and picking up their leavings becomes more difficult.

It’s always been irritating to step out of my car to open the gate and feel dog poop squish up around my sandals; but the situation is growing beyond just being a nuisance. Recently, an unsuspecting resident stepped out of a taxi cab into a pile of poop, slipped and broke her collar bone. If you can’t do the right thing simply because it’s the right thing, then do it because it might keep someone from being injured. Pick up the poop.
