María Cristina Barragán had owned an apiary some 20 years ago and was well versed in how to deal with bees. Over the years, however, Mexico’s bees have become Africanized and today pose a threat which challenges anyone who stumbles upon them in the wild, even bee experts. Only a few months ago, Barragan and her friends underwent an ordeal they will never forget.
