Return of the Jurassic Era

altPrehistoric animals will invade the city this December. The Walking with Dinosaurs Live Experience tour comes to Guadalajara from Wednesday, December 2 through to Sunday, December 6 at the Arena VFG, on the highway to Chapala.

The show is a live adaptation of the series that originated in Australia and that was first aired by the BBC in 1999. Its 2007-2008 U.S. tour attracted over two million spectators.

Patrons will see a portrayal of the dinosaurs’ evolution and also the cause of their extinction. The show highlights ten dinosaur species including the Brachiosaurus, Tyrannosaurus Rex and the Plateosaurus. Stage design and imagery will be done by Peter England,  who helped to coordinate the 2002 Sydney Olympic Games.

The original documentary series was said to have recreated the most accurate portrayal of prehistoric animals ever seen on the screen. Combining fact and informed speculation with cutting-edge computer graphics and animatronics effects, the series took two years to make.  The Guinness Book of World Records reported that the series was the most expensive documentary series per minute ever made.

Tickets to see the two-hour show range from 330 to 1,210 pesos. For more information on starting times, check www.ticketmaster.com
