Guadalajara’s Fiestas de Octubre (as previewed in last week’s edition) is most famous for its tacky shows, carnival atmosphere, mechanical games, the odd cockfight and food and drink – all of which are centered around the Auditorio Benito Juarez, its traditional site on the northern Periferico (intersection with Av. Alcalde). The fairground is open daily October 9 through November 8, from noon until 2 a.m. It’s lowbrow stuff; don’t expect too much other than a popular Mexican experience. Kids will enjoy though.
