A Guadalajara orchestra that is mostly composed of young musicians is on the brink of a new stage in its short history.
Even the name of the Orquesta de Camara in Crescendo, with its several layers of meaning, reflects the youth and aspirations of the group. It was founded 3 1/2 years ago when director Javier Morales, now only 36 years old, was asked to lead what was then a quintet. Morales is known locally due to his work as pianist for Zapopan’s Orquesta Sinfonica Juvenil, his experience directing, and for his father, Miguel Morales, who had a stellar singing career. Javier Morales has also studied with American teacher Harlan Snow and Hector Guzman of the Jalisco Philharmonic Orchestra.
