Scores of folk dancers from 13 communities in the lakeshore region descended on the Jocotepec Malecon on Saturday, August 28 for a mega dance performance, followed by a lively fireworks display.
At one point, some 650 handsomely costumed couples and a live mariachi band teamed up to perform the colorful Estampa Jalisco.
The event was organized by Jalisco’s Culture Department, in conjunction with the municipalities of Atotonilco el Alto, Ayotlan, Chapala, Degollado, Jamay, Jocotepec, La Barca, Octolan, Poncitlan, Tizapan el Alto, Tototlan, Tuxcueca and Zapotlan del Rey.
