PUERTO VALLARTA - Quimixto, 30 minutes south of Puerto Vallarta, will hold the Mexican National Surfing Tournament on March 7 and 8.
Organizers hope the event will attract between 800 and 1,000 visitors a day. The beach will be open to the public from 9 a.m. until 6 p.m. on both days.
A bikini contest will give those present a chance to cast their vote for their favorite beach bunny.
One potential hitch is that the beach is only reachable by boat. Water taxis will be on hand to transport the participants and spectators from Boca beach, for 25 pesos.
