Two boxes of much needed medicines were transported south through airport security in three countries recently and were presented to the eventual prescribers at the Wednesday meeting of the Costalegre Rotary Club.
Ken Koyama showed up at the regular weekly meeting with five thousand dollars worth of medicine donated by an assortment of individuals from the Pictin, Ontario area.
With just a bit of discussion, it was decided that the gift would be given to the new clinic recently built by the Ayuda a los Ninos group for migrant farm workers in Villa Penal, near Melaque.
Ken is just one returning Rotarian bringing funds and other help to the Melaque/Barra area. Three clubs in Oregon and British Columbia have pledged funds toward a new schoolroom in Barra de Navidad, and more announcements are anticipated shortly concerning the efforts of other Rotarians returning for the winter.
