The discovery that led to the book began in 2003 in a family closet.
While going through boxes of family mementos after her mother’s death, Kathy Saade Kenny Kabande unearthed more than 130 letters, written in Arabic, and an album of old family pictures that once belonged to her maternal grandmother, Katrina Sa’ade.
