Culinary fairs: Eat out and eat well

Interest in fine dining in Mexico has never been greater, with festivals, foods fairs and restaurant weeks now everyday occurrences on the nation’s culinary scene.

Here’s a selection of events happening now and over the next few weeks in and around Jalisco.

New Orleans Festival

As part of the Guadalajara May Cultural Festival, the city’s Hilton Hotel (Av. Las Rosas 2933) is offering a “New Orleans” menu prepared by a top Louisiana chef.  There are two sittings daily at 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.  Don’t pass up this unique opportunity to savor traditional dishes such as gumbo, fried oyster skewers, crab cake, turducken, jamablaya, bullock tail soup and banana foster. Daily until Sunday, May 29.
