The Jalisco state government’s plan to fast-track construction of an elevated highway (the Via Express) slicing through the Guadalajara metropolitan area is garnering scathing criticism from around the globe.
Not only are local urban experts opposed to the idea of a 23-kilometer express road running above the city’s railway tracks but international experts are calling the idea “dreadful” and “laughable.”
