Calderon to retire in Guadalajara?

Unveiling the Ciudad Creativa Digital at the Expo Guadalajara, President Felipe Calderon was interrupted by an angry heckler.

“How many more deaths? When will the (drug) war end? When will your government end? Where will you go to live?” shouted Tonatiuh Moreno, one of the invited guests.

“Perhaps here in Guadalajara, my friend,” quipped the president, maintaining his composure. Having been raised in Michoacan and living in Mexico City for many years, there is no obvious reason why Calderon would choose to reside in Guadalajara upon leaving office at the end of the year. He was likely just playing to the local audience in a bid to diffuse the tension.

Calderon also gave a brief defense of his security strategy and promised to continue the fight against organized crime until the end of his term in office.
