The Brisas de Chapala and Chapala Haciendas subdivisions located on the northern outskirts of the municipal seat have been targeted in a recent rash of daytime robberies.
The tally since January 1 includes three home invasions perpetrated by armed men, two break-ins and another attempted break-in that was foiled by the homeowner who was physically assaulted by the thief.
Residents of those neighborhoods are being warned to keep their gates, doors and windows carefully secured at all times. Several residents have reported spotting suspicious looking men driving around in a white pickup truck and nosing around several home entrances in commonly used to hide spare keys.
