Lakeside jeweler Daniel Jackson Garcia and his teenage nephew Miguel Angel Rivera Echeverria sustained extensive burn injuries from a gas explosion and fire that gutted the Ajijic workshop where they were working.
The incident occurred on Friday, January 21 around 2 p.m. on the third story of the building located at the corner of Calles Juarez and Hidalgo where Jackson operated his jewelry making and repair business. The ground floor houses the Papeleria Hidalgo stationery and notions shop.
