Mexico’s Brujo Mayor, or Grand Warlock, Antonio Vázquez Alba, has been making annual predictions on world politics, sports, and entertainment for 25 years. Among other things, he predicted the death of Britney Spears in 2008 and an invasion of Syria in 2012, as well as the assassination of a Latin American leader last year.
In 2011, he also prognosticated the weakening of the Euro and the prolongation of the recession in developed western economies, although he was hardly the only one with such wild divinations.
