Fisherman and environmental activist Steven Leslie Rutherford died Tuesday in La Manzanilla, Jalisco. He was 54.

Longtime Ajijic resident Ellen Louise (Hamilton) Allison died in her home on March 1 at the age of 70.

Jo Anne Strickland Chappell died February 20 in a Guadalajara hospital from complications related to a stroke she experienced in January. She was 77.

Barbara Ann Martindale of Ajijic died in a Guadalajara Hospital on February 19 at the age of 66.

Lorna Morse died peacefully at her home in Ajijic on February 17 at the age of 86.

Longtime Lakeside resident Mildred Boyd died after surgery in Cuenca, Ecuador on February 10 at the age of 88.

Dennis Morton passed away in Bucerias on February 1.  Born August 14, 1944 in St. Helena, California, he spent his childhood in Palo Alto, California and graduated from Palo Alto High School in 1962.

Thomas J. Johnson died at his home in Los Galapagos, near the Lakeside village of San Juan Tecomatlan, on January 22 at the age of 69.

Longtime Lakeside resident Walter J. Apley died in a hospital in Portland, Oregon November 9, 2009 at the age of 90.

Former Lakeside resident Andrea “Anne” Whitney died from a stroke January 25 in Portland, Oregon at the age of 82.
