All but four of Jalisco’s federal legislators vote for tax increases

Nine of Jalisco’s 12 federal diputados belonging to the Institutional Revolutionary Party (PRI) approved tax hikes contained in the 2010 federal budget. All 12 members of the National Action Party (PAN) voted for the package that will see IVA (sales tax) increase from 15 to 16 percent and income tax (ISR) from 28 to 30 percent.  The lone left-wing member from the Workers Party (PT) voted against the hikes.
