The Jalisco town of Tepatitlan has been chosen as the site for Mexico’s new Center for Genetic Resources, an ambitious project that former state governor and agriculture secretary Alberto Cardenas calls a contemporary Noah’s Ark.
The primary aim of the center will be the conservation of Mexico’s native fauna and flora whose existence could be threatened by climatic change, said Cardenas, a former Jalisco state governor.
