Dennis Morton passed away in Bucerias on February 1.  Born August 14, 1944 in St. Helena, California, he spent his childhood in Palo Alto, California and graduated from Palo Alto High School in 1962. He received a Bachelor of Science with a Major in Industrial Arts and a Minor in music from California State Polytechnic College at San Luis Obispo, California in 1967, followed by a Masters in Education with a specialization in Counseling and Guidance in 1971. After teaching and working at other positions in the United States for many years, Morton retired to Bucerias with his long-time partner Robert Hearick. Six months after celebrating their 30th anniversary, Robert passed away in October, 1996. Morton was also preceded in death by his father, Edwin Snow Morton in 1947, and his mother, Alice Bernadine (Bea) Morton in 2001.  He is survived by two brothers, three sisters, his stepfather and many friends in Bucerias. In accordance with his wishes, Dennis has been cremated and his ashes will be scattered at a private ceremony later this month.
