GR should cover Chula Vista issue

Dear Sir,

I cannot disagree more with the comments of Mr. Michael Winslow regarding the travails of the Chula Vista fraccionamiento.

Nor do I quite understand the import of his rather frivolous complaints. Quite apart from your reportage of this sorry affair being of no interest to the foreign community, it is of vital importance. It is a major lesson to members of all clubs, organizations and fraccionamientos to be very cautious of mean spirited, self indulgent members with their own agenda of disruption and harm.

In my ten years here, I have seen on more than one occasion a foreigner engage the Mexican courts to address their complaints, often with dire consequences for the victims of their ill will. Such people seem bent on lining the pockets of Mexican lawyers, only too happy to take their money for some vacuous lawsuit. Who could blame the lawyer?

I would exhort you, then, to continue doing your fine work of informing the expatriate community. I personally would invite you to publish a picture of the lady with the unlikely name of Peace, so that your entire readership may be wary of her. As for the Mexican opinion of us, their guests, it is my impression that they generally have a rather high regard for the huge majority of us who treat them with respect and kindness. I can, however, imagine what the Mexican lawyers think of those of us who cannot settle our differences in an amicable manner. They are no doubt laughing all the way to Banamex.
